This is a non native parasitic species that will set up colonies on planets by hitchhiking their eggs onto space craft or their cargo. The colony queen has the intelligence, she communicates via telepathy to the brood. If the queen dies the remainder have only rudimentary intelligence and survival skills. So she will find a lair in which to establish herself and will rarely venture away. The offspring are: Stingers who disable their victims with a stinging tail. Marauders with larger claws and teeth that will attack large prey and help cut up large carcasses. Gatherers that gather the remains of the prey and bring them back to the lair.


The queen consumes the prey once they have been brought back to the lair and gives nourishment to the offspring. The poison will paralyze the prey so if it is a time of plenty the victim will not immediately be consumed, but will be stored in the lair. All can change their color and camouflage like a chameleon to blend in with their surroundings. All have 4 eyes and 4 legs and a tail. Only the stinger can sting though.

4 legs, tail like a scorpion. Front legs have 3 pronged claws to grab onto prey and clench it while jabbing with the tail. The tail injects a poison 4 eyes – all in a row at top of head. Small eye – big eye – big eye – small eye. When victim goes to zero hit points, they are in a coma. Mouth is rather small and does no damage. Claws do nominal damage – maybe a point or two. No fur, it has a hardened but flexible shell on it's back. It is camouflaged and blends in with terrain. It is an ambush predator.

After the Stinger dispatches the prey the Marauder may be summoned to dismember the victim if is too large to be carried. They also defend the colony and are sometimes used to attack larger creatures in a swarm if they are unaffected by the poison of a stinger. So they are less likely to be encountered.

This is the colonies gatherer that picks up creatures disabled by the stingers. Or will collect the pieces rendered by the Marauders if there is a large carcass. It can't do much damage and will be defensive – quickly running away if much resistance is encountered.

Uses telepathy to communicate with her brood. So she can co-ordinate attacks with the stingers and marauders. Smart and clever she will use bait and set up ambushes for prey. A water bottle in the desert could be a lure. Or having a Marauder act injured to lure prey in for a closer look.
